1001 Great Stories, Volume 2

Volume 2 of 1001 Great Stories continues what will be the dominate pattern of the series, a wide-ranging selection of international figures covering the centuries. Among the noted figures of this volume are the early and mid-20th century American author, Djuna Barnes; the contemporary and recently deceased Algerian-French novelist and poet, Mohammed Dib; the Greek story-teller, poet and novelist Andreas Embiricos; contemporary Czech dramatist and writer Daniela Fischerová, early 20th century Japanese experimentalist Hagiwara Sakutaro; German modernist novelist and storyteller Georg Heym; Anglo-American novelist Aldous Huxley; Slovenian author Lojze Kovacic; and Italian-American storyteller Niccolò Tucci.

As with the Green Integer PIP [Project for Innovative Poetry] series of anthologies, the editor envisions this short-fiction series as an entertaining and educational project that will help English-language readers discover the joys of international writing and to recognize their own writiers within that international context.
